Over the past 5 years we have modified our setup based on what we want to accomplish. We started off tent camping in state parks using Josh’s Mazda3, and eventually bought a 2018 Tacoma to get us out into more remote areas. As with most trips, we have learned along the way through trial and error to determine which pieces of gear would allow us to comfortably be outdoors for longer periods of time and get us through some tough spots.
